The Diabetes Association of Atlanta (DAA) is excited to announce the selection of Karla Hooper as its new Executive Director!

 

Karla has an impressive track record with DAA and the nonprofit industry. For the past ten years, she has served as DAA’s Development Contractor to secure funding in support of the organization’s mission.  Prior to her service at DAA, she worked as Development Specialist at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and Development Director at CARE USA. She is also a graduate of Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and is the recipient of several nonprofit certificates.  Karla’s nonprofit experience combined with her passion for diabetes awareness will strengthened DAA’s impact on the diabetes community and increase the significance of its important work.

Karla states, “It is an honor and privilege to lead DAA as the new Executive Director.  I look forward to working with the board, staff and community to take DAA to new levels and help lessen the burden of diabetes in Georgia.”

Karla is married and the mother of two daughters and one fur baby.
