Problem Solving

It may sound simple, but being good at problem solving is an important diabetes management skill. Living healthy with diabetes means that a person has to be prepared for unexpected events to disrupt their diabetes management or make it more challenging. For example, knowing what to do when a person is sick to manage their blood sugars is an example of problem solving. Planning for meals when on the go or traveling is another example of problems solving. As diabetes progresses many people have to adapt to living with chronic complications and problem solving skills come in handy once again. A diabetes self management class can help people with diabetes strategize for challenges in their diabetes management.
