LaShonda Hulbert is devoted to “meeting people where they are” and educating them about preventative measures they can take to prevent complications of diabetes or prevent the onset of diabetes. Ms. Hulbert received a Bachelor’s of Professional Studies with a Concentration in African American-Healthcare from the University of Memphis. Ms. Hulbert is also a graduate of Georgia State University with a Masters of Public Health. Her concentration while at the School of Public Health was Health Promotion & Behavior, which has been invaluable to her position as the Screening Coordinator for the Diabetes Association of Atlanta. Ms. Hulbert is a member of the American Public Health Association and was also inducted into Delta Omega Public Health Honor Society. As the Screening Coordinator, Ms. Hulbert trains screening technicians to perform screenings throughout DAA’s 13 county service area. Ms. Hulbert also coordinates and attends events where she provides glucose screenings and diabetes awareness education. Ms. Hulbert also coordinates DAA’s Medical Assistance Program.
